Ascend to the Clouds: Arequipa to Yanque
Your private tour guide and driver will meet you at your hotel to begin a stunning four-hour scenic journey into the highlands. Have your camera ready as we cross the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, a protected habitat where you will spot exotic Andean wildlife including vicuñas, llamas, alpacas, flamingos, and ibis.
The drive offers breathtaking landscapes of high-altitude lakes and glaciers, guarded by the magnificent volcanoes of Ampato, Sabancaya, Huallca, and Misti. We will reach the journey's highest point at the Patapampa Pass (4,800m / 15,000ft) before beginning our descent into the picturesque town of Yanque.
Upon arrival at your selected hotel, you will enjoy a delicious lunch while taking in the incredible views. The Flight of the Condor
After an early breakfast, we set out to witness the Canyon in its most magical light. We will drive along the canyon's edge, stopping at small, deeply traditional Andean villages where colonial architecture remains perfectly preserved and time seems to have stood still.
Our destination is the famous *Mirador Cruz del Condor*. At this dramatic viewing point, the canyon drops an astounding 1,200 meters deep. As the morning air warms, you will have the unparalleled opportunity to watch the majestic Andean condors—the largest flying birds in the world—glide effortlessly on the thermal updrafts, framed by the breathtaking canyon scenery.
Once you have taken in the refreshing mountain air and captured unforgettable photographs, we will begin our relaxed, 4-hour return trip, dropping you safely back at your hotel in Arequipa. (Meals: Breakfast)
